Web-Map Viewer/Portal Capabilities
Configuring out-of-the-box and custom widgets to meet the functional specification of the project
SYNCADD has a long history of providing custom and COTS GIS solutions. We have developed, implemented, and maintained geospatial systems utilizing a variety of software including Esri, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MapServer. Our team of geospatial developers also have significant experience providing geospatial services in a cloud environment. Our latest enterprise GIS solution is a DoD Common Access Card (CAC) enabled system built in the Amazon GovCloud using Esri’s ArcGIS for Server and open source database PostreSQL. We provide all system architecture planning, operational support, maintenance, and service development for the back-end and the Portal for ArcGIS web services, maps, and applications for the front-end.
As part of the implementation process, SYNCADD assisted the government with the Defense Information Assurance Certification Process (DIACAP) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes which included obtaining and maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO), Authority to Connect (ATC), and routinely completing required security and compliance requirements.
As part of our geospatial data support services, SYNCADD completes quarterly data repository uploads which includes the acquisition, validation, QA/QC, loading, and delivery of over 100 GIS datasets each quarter.
Our Team of professionals develop Web Map Services (WMS) and maintain the GIS portal and associated Web Applications. We have developed and published a variety of GIS web applications and dashboards that range in complexity from simple maps to complex applications assisting with real property reconciliation.
Each of our GIS web applications goes through a robust development process beginning with problem identification, solutions generation, in-depth requirements collection process, all helping in the delivery of a blueprint for the application. Our process allows for effective collaboration, transparency, and accountability to help ensure each application is built to specification. Once the requirements are in place, we begin to configure the desktop maps using standardized and approved symbology and optimized scaling before publishing services. The new services are added to web maps along with other external data to enrich the experience and provide the users with greater context. SYNCADD developers configure out-of-the-box and custom widgets to meet the functional specification of the project. When the app is ready for review, our internal team follows standardized processes to QC all requirements as well as ad hoc testing to catch any other potential bugs or irregularities. Once the QC has been completed, the application is deployed and tested to ensure user permissions are applied adequately.
