Data Migration

Achieving Compliance.

The Department of Defense mandates each branch of the US military must conform to the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) data model.  Each branch developed their own version specific to their needs which is referred to as their Adaptation.  SYNCADD assisted the Army in the creation of the SDSFIE 3.0 Gold, SDSFIE 3.1 Gold, and SDSFIE 4.0 Gold models at the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) level.  We also developed the SDSFIE 3.1 and 4.0 Army Adaptation model and are currently developing the SDSFIE 4.0 Army Adaptation model.

SYNCADD, under a contract with the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management (OACSIM), Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), migrated the Army from legacy SDSFIE version 2.x schemas to the SDSFIE 3.1 Army Adaptation.  We provided all communication, technical support, physical migration of data, and implementation support for every migrated GIS database.  Over 200 datasets at over 100 installations were successfully migrated. SYNCADD also migrated the datasets from SDSFIE version 3.1 to version 4.0.

SYNCADD also validated, aggregated, and loaded spatial data from all Army installations into a single enterprise repository and migrated legacy PRISMS data into the cloud.

With this level of experience, SYNCADD is poised to help your organization with your data migration needs.
